The Power in Nothing…
Mrs I and myself have have just returned from a week’s break in deepest Wales. Our ‘luxury’ cottage was literally in the middle of nowhere and the was N O T H I N G there which meant there was N O T H I N G to do!!!
At first this frustrated me, then it bored me, then out of ‘nowhere’ it became the greatest thing ever!!! We lead such busy lives the calendar and the clock rule everything. This driven life can leave you (quite worryingly) feeling guilt and anxiety when faced with the possibility of not filling every waking hour with things to do. Don’t get me wrong I love what I do and for the most part choose to live at the pace I do (the work of the kingdom is a matter of life or death after all!), but there are times when we need to stop and reacquaint ourselves with N O T H I N G. There has to be point when God is allowed to be God in our lives and there is no better place for God to be truly God than in N O T H I N G, because God is the only person who’s specialist subject is making S O M E H I N G out of N O T H I N G!! (think Genesis and creation).
It is so vital for the everyday Christian to regularly and comfortably get ourselves into a place were there is N O T H I N G for us to do; no expectations; no agendas; no phone calls/emails/SMS etc. so that God can begin to create S O M E T H I N G genuinely new and unique in each of our lives.

When the mood takes me…
I have to confess I am one of life’s thinkers. I watch and I think and from time to time I will comment on what I perceive is going on…
I can’t say that historically I’m a great blogger, but when the mood takes me I love to write, ramble or muse (delete as appropriate!!) about life, God and living in such exciting times the 21st Century.
Feel free to share, comment and muse over what you find on my blog site
Peace
Tony
